Holy shit is the new update broken af on mobile (no shade, just a comment on it) 😭 The update decided to wipe my 1 year of reading. Majority of my memory index entries and saves were gone. Some stayed weirdly enough.
I thought I could skip through and see what was changed from the 2nd to the last update —whether it be small text changes or new paragraphs— anddddd I couldn't. The game thought it's my first time reading it💀 Feels bad man
This won't hurt me in the long run but it is a shame to not see the changes. It's a tiny thing I've been actively looking out for bc it's interesting how different developers in the FVN niche develop their game thought the years
Whether it be small text changes or massive rewrites, it's fun experiencing these things while it's still in the game's history. Short as it may be
I'm really sorry to hear that! The improvements on the essence wheel in the last update did break a lot of saves, but it's completely unusual to remove progress like that because that has nothing to do with it. I haven't heard other reports of that happening but I'm sorry to hear that!
Apologies! I don't have a Linux to test it on and there aren't that many Linux players. Updating the Ren'py version the game uses is not very easy but it was already on my list for future updates as there are some features from the newer versions I'd like to use. I'll announce it when I manage to do so in the future updates and hopefully things like that will be easier to handle!
I'm really curious to see how Resnick will interact with the "Lust Demon" and see the two of them talking and everything. When will he reveal himself to the protagonist ?
Thank you for the report! I haven't received other reports of this error and it seems pretty big, though. Does it happen when you load a save around that part of the story? Because the new version's updated to the essence wheel have (unfortunately) broken a few saves like that. Are you playing on PC or Android? Is it only this specific essence selection or does it happen on all of them?
all of my saves before the Ludwig massage scene always crash and then it either crashes the game or sends me to the very start of the story. I've managed to bypass the bug, so I was able to finish the new addition to the story. I had to pick a save where the next scene didn't have the essence wheel load.
The number of choices that are made and registered through the story make it a little trickier, but as the game gets longer, it's in the plans to make something like that, yes!

probably due to python and renpy versions being severely outdated

Seems there's a problem for me, whenever the prompts for the essence selection wheel appears it will automatically activate it.
And this appears
I can just press ignore but it automatically chooses the essence for me.

you really should add a chapter selection system
it would really be convenient in the case of save file breaking
