As many of you might know, starting today, Itch.io has announced that it is going to deindex all projects with NSFW content from its platform. This means that, as of this morning, no one will be able to find games that have adult content on the Itch platform unless they use a direct link to the game that they have gotten somewhere else. As they have announced, this is an immediate and possibly temporary measure, but it also means that there's a fair chance that they will decide to eliminate NSFW games, or at least Demons Within, entirely from their platform.

Like many other visual novels, Demons Within's creation is only possible due to the support of its fans. Itch.io, a platform that has always supported small, indie creators like us, has been a home for many of us as a means for people who like what we create to find us in this big, wide world. This support for indie creators was always one of the cornerstones of Itch.io that we loved and relied on, and it's sad to see them cut a part of them off. Itch.io is, of course, not the real culprit in this whole scenario, but the actions it ended up having to take still sting and hurt us nonetheless.

Because of all of that and the uncertainty of the future of Demons Within here on Itch.io, I would like to urge everyone who enjoys Demons Within and wants to keep up with its updates to follow us on our other platforms in case Itch.io decides to take us down. You can follow us on:

I also urge people to join Demons Within's Patreon as a free member. This costs nothing, and we strive to send out messages about new updates to free members as well. You can do so on Demons Within's Patreon page.

If you use Discord, another good way is to join Demons Within's Discord server. We have an active community and an announcements channel as well.

Finally, I'd like to say that even should Itch.io unfortunately lets us down, Demons Within will continue. Though it will be that much harder to find fans and supporters, we'll do everything we can to make sure people who enjoy our content can have access to it if they want to.
